Can social media tell us if someone is ready to leave “the life” of trafficking and sexual exploitation? This is one example of the research done by The Avery Center, where their work to collect data not only leads to actionable change but equips providers to offer more informed care for survivors.
To chat more we invited McKenna Miller, Community Outreach Coordinator at The Avery Center for Research & Services. McKenna shares about the research which includes: a digital outreach program for sex buyers, social media campaigns to reduce harm for trafficking victims.
This research informs the other service provision arm of The Avery Center, which seeks to care for and validate victims-survivors of trafficking, wherever they’re at in their journey out.
